In response to reader queries about where to obtain the books I review in CHAPTERS, the H-P Book Club was started. We started with a bang when over 85 people enrolled in the club. The membership has been relatively consistent over the years with retirements being the chief excuse for non-renewal. We have even added a few new subscribers each year.

What is in store this year you ask. Well, I have encountered some true specials already this year and it is only September. Holiday books have arrived in the store and more are coming every day. I have a very special one in mind for this year's club. But that will have to wait until December approaches. In the YA world several books have caught my eye. There's a new Gary Paulsen which looks promising. And, of course, the two books reviewed in the last issue of CHAPTERS. Both books need to be in your collections and shared freely with your readers. Other favorite authors have new books coming soon also. To renew simply and mail it with your payment.

For any new interested prospective members the club can be explained as: Once a month (October through June, 9 books per year) a book will be mailed to you. This can be either a Children’s book or a Young Adult title. Or you may enroll as a Regular which means a split--one month a C the next a YA book. There are no choices or returns. The books are hot off the presses so I can be assured no copies are on hand. I read up a storm and send the very best of the best to the members.

Cost for the club is $165.00 if the book is to be sent to a non-residential address such as a school; for residential delivery the charge is $195.00. Double Club: $300.
